Bio:

I was born and raised in Quebec, but I’ve   lived in six different provinces, from Nova Scotia to British Columbia. Regina has been my home since 1997.

I joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1962 and served eight years as a sonarman, mostly on destroyer Escorts but the last two years were spent in Submarines.

My career includes several years in the broadcast industry, first on-air in FM radio, then in television, primarily on the technical side for both CBC and CTV outlets.

Before retiring in 2008, I worked for many years in the labour movement, both as an elected officer and on staff. I was National President of NABET, and when that union merged with CEP, I assumed the position, National Vice President – Media.

While working with CEP in Regina, I helped provide communications support and coordinated union education within Saskatchewan.

I am no stranger to political action and have appeared many times before regulatory, parliamentary and legislative committees. I am very comfortable working as a member of a board, and serve as a director of the Regina Folk Festival, Vice President of the Saskatchewan Chapter of Fair Vote Canada, and sit as a member of the Saskatchewan Labour Market Commission.

I am the Vice President for the Saskatchewan Chapter of Fair Vote Canada (FVC) which is  a multi-partisan citizens' campaign for voting system reform. Canadians from all points on the political spectrum, all regions and all walks of life are joining FVC to demand a fair voting system - a fundamental requirement for healthy representative democracy and government accountability. I maintain the local web site.

I maintain several blogs all of which are interlinked. The main blog portal site is Life Is Too Short To Drink Cheap Wine which is linked to my cooking blogs,a wine blog and a political blog.
